🗒️Local tips for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia

How to arrive in Georgia

According to the bilateral agreement, Ukrainian citizens can enter Georgia without a visa, only by presenting national ID card. Having a passport is not mandatory.

There is big ambiguity as to what kind of regulation do European countries and/or airlines have at the moment for those Ukrainians without any ID documents. Please find out local information/regulations relevant to traveling without documents or if you need to obtain special permission before leaving the country you are in right now. For this please read Local Tips for your current location.

The majority of Ukrainian citizens are currently leaving Ukraine from the western borders exiting into the European countries. One of the easiest ways to travel to Georgia is to take a fee-free flight offered by WizzAir or to pay for a commercial flight.

WizzAir currently has 100 000 free air tickets on offer for Ukrainian citizens to help them reach their destination. The flight is free of charge in case of presenting a Ukrainian national identification card or passport. If you do not have an ID card, the free ticket offer does not apply and you would need to purchase the ticket. To find out more about the offer please follow the link

Housing / Accommodation

The citizens of Ukraine who found themselves stranded in Georgia at the start of the war are already housed.

By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia Mr. Garibashvili all Ukrainian tourists who cannot return to the homeland can stay in Georgian hotels for free.

The National Tourism Administration of Georgia offered Ukrainian tourists free hotel accommodation supported by the private sector. Assistance has already been provided to about 200 citizens of Ukraine.
